The electric energy information acquisition and load management is an important part of the power marketing system. The traditional way of electric energy collection is periodical collection with manpower to the scene. This way has the problems of low efficiency, high costs and unable to monitor, so it had been unable to meet the need of development of the smart grid. The information collection and load management system based on computer application technology, modern communications technology and the technology of power automatical control can reflect the usage of power energy in time, accurately and comprehensively. At the same time it can reduce the peak-valley difference of the load, improve the operation of the grid and reduce the loss caused by the conflict between power supply and demand. Therefore a design of electric energy acquisition and load management system based on GPRS is proposed in this paper.Firstly, the background and significance of this subject is analyzed in this paper. Secondly combined with the status of the electric energy acquisition and load management, the requirements of application of new electric energy collection and load management system are analyzed and then a design of electric energy acquisition and load management system is proposed and the overall design of the master station layer, the communication network layer, the acquisition terminal layer and the power meter is introduced. Then the functions and structures of the four layers are designed in detail. In this paper, hardware design of electric energy acquisition and load management terminal is completed, which includes a micro control unit (MCU) module, data acquisition and measurement module, load control module, meter reading interface module, GPRS communication module and power supplyment module. Finally, the software of the terminal is also completed in this paper. The electric energy acquisition and load management system design in this paper can meet the needs of power system applications at present, and has broad application prospects.
