In today’s society, the effectiveness of information management is seriously lagging behind because of rapid increment of information. Many systems arise to assist in the management of information such as knowledge base. As an important part of knowledge management, knowledge base system covers most of the life cycle of knowledge processing, including knowledge collection, classification, storage, distribution, and provides all kinds of navigation service. Knowledge base are playing an more and more important role in solving confused information management, improving the ability of information sharing of enterprises, promoting enterprises’ core-competitiveness.SaaS(Software as a service) largely decreases the cost of an enterprise to realize informatization. Knowledge base based on SaaS can help enterprises to elevate competitiveness significantly.This paper aims to solve the problem of knowledge management of small and medium-sized enterprises using knowledge base based on SaaS. To promote the activity of knowledge sharing and efficiency of editing, this paper also studied collaborative editing and version management. The main research work summarizes as follows:1) Building a knowledge base based on SaaS using Wiki to solve the problem of knowledge management.2) Realizing collaborative editing function to promote activity of knowledge sharing and efficiency of editing.3) Studying the theory of version management, and implementing the function of version control and management.Compared with the existing systems, the knowledge base designed in this paper has the following innovations. Firstly, combined with SaaS, the system largely decreases the cost of small and medium-sized enterprises to realize informazation. Secondly, this paper puts forward a process with content confliction detection in collaborative editing. The process can avoid content overwrite rudely, and can promote efficiency of editing. Meanwhile the system optimizes the generation of version number in version management function. Lastly, we designed and implemented the function of word cloud to help reading.
