With the popularization of mobile internet, the demand for higher wireless data speed is becoming increasingly urgent. Adopting advanced technologies including OFDM and MIMO, LTE-A proposes a promising solution due to its high spectrum efficiency and data rate. However, the research and development of LTE-A standard are impossible without hardware platform. Therefore this paper aims to build a test-bed for LTE-A downlink on DSP to facilitate further researches. The research of this paper mainly focuses on the following three parts:1) The second chapter introduces the architecture design of the test-bed. A raw architecture is outlined according to protocols including3GPP TS36.211-213and validated by link-level simulation using MATLAB. Then detailed discussion is also made on the channel estimation algorithms, MIMO decoding algorithms. Moreover, the type of DSP chips are chosen considering system requirements and equipment capacities. Lastly, specific architecture design and performance targets are decided by jointly considering hardware and protocol;2) The third chapter describes the implementation detail of modules including Multicore Navigator and Ethernet communication on Keystone Soc architecture DSPs;3) The fourth chapter gives a detailed introduction on pipeline and its optimization in digital signal processing system, according to which the designs in chapter three are improved and assembled. Practical test is also conducted to validate the resultant8x4MIMO LTE-A downlink system, which proves to have robust performance, low bit error rate and efficient resource utilization. In total, the test-bed can reach a peak rate of300Mbps in measurement with a practical value to the communication industries. In the next step, more implementing works of the advanced LTE-A technologies are needed to be verified on the test-bed to achieve a higher target.
