Nowadays, with the high efficiency, multimedia communication platform are becoming more and more popular in people’s daily life, widely used in government or enterprise conference, online video eduction, social network and so on. Multimedia technology not only greatly shortens the time people used to spend, but also subverts people’s communication mode and habit. With the drastic change of mobile Internet, the rich and diverse multimedia content has attracted more people away from the tradition phone calls in communication.Multimedia communication platforms used in different areas have its own characteristics which enhances platform stability but sharply reduces platform scalability. If a new user demands for a new business, a new multimedia communication system has to be developed which debases reusability and increases cost. Given this situation, a general, efficient and reliable multimedia communication system is necessary. Considering these demands, this paper designs and realizes a light and simple platform with good scalability and high convinience for business processing.Besides, the platform is easy to maintain. Based on the seperation of conference control and media processing, conference control part is performed by multiple-point conference-control servers while the media processing part is completed by the special DSP chip. The whole platform adopts SIP protocol. In order to validate feasibility and practicability, in the last part video conference is realized on this platform.
