The Design And Implementation Of Multicast VPN Based On Comware V7Platform

An important requirement of current network service is to realize multicast business in virtual private network. Which strategy can do well in the realization of the multicast VPN business while saving costs as much as possible and reducing the impact of existing core network, is one of the key issues need to be addressed in today’s network service provider.Now for multicast VPN technology, the mainstream network equipment vendors have their own solutions. This paper based on Comware V7multicast VPN project of H3C company. V7multicast VPN project choosed MD (Multicast Domain) program as implementation after analysising several common programs. It is a good solution to the main problems in the implementation of multicast VPN which can in particular ensure the stability of the core network. MD program use the idea of modular design to achieve the application. The V7system adds the new MD module as a user-mode process that exists in the system, to ensure the system’s security and manageability. The HA of MD module provide user high realiablity and program upgrading without interruption.This paper first introduces the background of the project, describes the development of multicast VPN technology at home and abroad and points out the main work of the paper. Then it introduces the PIM protocol and multicast VPN technology, and leads to a detailed description of the best implementations MD through the comparison of several multicast VPN technologythe analysis. Next this article describes the V7multicast VPN module needs analysis and implementation design, and show a detailed form of the implementation of the MD module from a complete workong system view, and gives test data. The running processes to achieve the MD forwarding flow is the focus of this article, which is the author’s main work in the project. Finally, the paper gives a summary of the work done, and shows future prospects and follow-up of the project.
