The developing purpose of equipment management system for Shanghai Electricity Power Company is to meet the company’s real requirement of equipment management. Through constructing high efficient information supporting tools, it solves many problems in equipment management, such as uncompleted information, non-standard flows, incomprehensive defect management and difficulty in controlling cost fees. It realizes quantified, scientific and regulatory equipment management.First, this paper discusses the system’s developing background. In demand analysis, it discusses the system’s main functions, especially electric power equipments’basic information management function, equipment running information management function, equipment fault and repair information management function and cost information management function. On the basis of demand analysis, it further discusses the software’s system design, including structure design, database design and main modules’internal flows with focus on the equipments defects transaction processing modules design and basic information data internal organization schemes. Software flow to implement transaction processing is described. Then, it discusses the system’s software implementation, main modules’programming and testing, and gives summarization in the end.This system is developed by Java programming and Oracle database, it mainly runs in distributed environment based on wide-band network. It runs stable now and high-efficiently meets the company’s requirement of equipment management.
