With the rapid development of the global industry, the application of various pipelines,storage tanks, pressure vessels, special equipment is more and more wide.In the applicationprocess, they are affected by various factors and damaged in different degree, in order toensure the safety of using equipment or container, it is particularly important to assess thesafety and check erroneous ideas at the outset.The conventional nondestructive testing methodneed to shut or open tank to do testing under the condition of artificial, spending long time andcosting expensively. With the advantage of real-time monitoring, dynamic sensitivity andhigher bit,means of acoustic emission monitoring are favored by project personnel.Acoustic emission is a process of that the defect of material in local region release energyto produce transient elastic waves. This energy can directly reflect the location and severity ofdefects.Using acoustic emission detection instrument to detect defects on activity, is animportant means for detection of equipment.At present the majority of Chinese engineers and researchers mainly use the AmericanPAC company and Vallen company of German acoustic emission detection system, due to thelimitation of the function and unablely being transplanted,they bring the testing personnelinconvenience. The paper is from the view of actual application, putting forward a designmethod of acoustic emission monitoring system based on VC++,hoping to solve the problemsin the study of similar parts, and it can better meet the needs of actual monitoring work.Theygrasp the dynamic trend of corrosion through the acoustic emission source location methods,so as to improve the prediction accuracy and stability.This paper first summarizes the development and background of domestic and foreignacoustic emission technology, and the advantage of acoustic emission, and puts forward theresearch content and organizational structure of the topic; introducing the basic knowledge ofacoustic emission, including checking principle, application, classification of signals andsignal processing etc., to lay the theoretical foundation for the design of acoustic emissionmonitoring system; based on the acoustic emission theory and existing hardware, designingthe system’s overall diagram and the selection of hardware type; development platform isMicrosoft Visual C++6.0development environment which can automatically create generation framework, integrated visualization interactive operation, and develop a variety of program;designing man-machine interface of the exchange, calling the dynamic link library code, andfinally completing the realization of the function of acoustic emission the monitoring.
