Before the rock mass being damaged, there must be some energy accumulated being set free for some time in the form of sound, that is, rock mass acoustic emission. The nearer the structure approaches to the unstable state, the stronger the acoustic emission signal being set free. Therefore the acoustic emission of rock mass directly and accurately reflects the rich variant information of rock mass. Based on this discovery, we can use sensors, computer control theory, data acquisition, and so forth, some multi-aspect technologies to develop a monitor to observe the rock mass acoustic emission signal, then process, analyze the monitored signal, use them to evaluate the rock mass's stability, to achieve real-time monitoring of rock mass, thereby forecast the hazard phenomenon of ground pressure, rock collapse, roof falling, slabbing, landslides and rock burst, etc.This paper is based on the purpose of achieving the rock mass acoustic emission signal's monitoring, acquisition and real-time transmission, and puts forward a design program of multi-channel acoustic emission monitor meter based on C8051F020 MCU. This paper mainly includes five modules'designs and implementation, such as microcontroller control module, signal processing module by amplification and filter, power module, extended data storage modules and wireless serial communication module. Around the four modules'hardware and software design, this paper carries out a deep study, and the main research could be divided into the following sections:In chapter one, introduce the acoustic emission technology-related knowledge, analyze the current development and the general composition of the acoustic emission monitor meter, then propose the necessity of this multi-channel acoustic emission monitor meter's design.In chapter two, give the determination of design parameters around data acquisition technology and the actual demands when this monitor meter is used in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area.In chapter three, give the whole design program according to the design parameters, and carry out the hardware research of this monitoring system. The paper uses the MAX262 chip to achieve programmable filter for each three gear's high-pass and low-pass, and uses the nRF905 chip to achieve the wireless serial communication for real-time data between the upper and lower machines, in the power aspect, give two power supply designs in case of having or no AC power.In chapter four, according to each designed hardware module, give the corresponding software implementation programs.In chapter five, make a summary of the whole paper, and propose some further work prospects.
