Application prospect of wireless sensor network is very wide, not only can be widely used in the military, the intelligence Home Furnishing and environmental monitoring fields, but also widely used in various fields of weather, city transportation and warehouse management. With the in-depth study of wireless sensor networks and large-scale widely applied, it is bound to deep into all aspects of human life, and brings great convenience to the human life.At present, most of the water quality monitoring work is the use of artificial to complete the operation, the labor intensity is relatively large, it is difficult to accurately monitor the real-time status of water quality, it can meet the requirements of water quality monitoring information management. At present,Chinese water environment situation is very serious, in order to ensure the water environment safety, set up safety prevention and protection of water environment system, is the current regulatory extremely urgent task of water environment monitoring system, the focus of the present work is to establish a energy-saving.Through the water quality monitoring network system and can realize continuous monitoring, the monitoring data can determine the status of water quality timely,detailed distribution determine the polluted areas, to identify the source of pollution, so as to provide a powerful technical guarantee for the prevention and control of pollution source and water environment protection measures.Because of the great advantages of wireless sensor network applications in various fields, in the monitoring network system of water environment, the wireless sensor network has become an essential part of the field of water environment monitoring, however, in wireless sensor network, network node most energy can not be added in a timely manner, so the most important problem for the nodes to reduce increases the energy consumption of the network life cycle is the water quality monitoring in the field. This paper based on the wireless sensor network water environmental monitoring network group Zig Bee, studied the key energy-saving strategies on network. The detailed work is as follows:Based on the understanding of domestic and foreign research status and research methods of water quality monitoring network, starting from the research purpose and significance, the basic strategy of water environment monitoring network. Aiming at the water monitoring network needs, on the one hand, water quality monitoring network using periodic sampling approach to reducing water quality data collection, reduce the volume of data-so as to reduce energy consumption, and improve the original MAC.mechanism, the introduction of enews-MAC protocol network of water quality monitoring based on Zig Bee to reduce idle listening network when dormancy, to improve the energy efficiency of water quality monitoring network. On the other hand, by improving the routing algorithm of the original, reducing consumption in data forwarding routing algorithm routing hops to save energy of the node, which can prolong the network life cycle.Improved routing algorithm is a key point of this research.The last topic of each relevant simulation experiments based on the study of routing algorithm and improved on the dormancy period, and analyses the energy saving strategy related. The simulation results show that, energy efficient S-MAC protocol has better, far superior802.11MAC protocol and802.15.4MAC protocol, especially under heavy load, the energy efficiency of the S-MAC protocol is more fully reflected, at light loads, S-MAC protocol energy efficiency is better than802.11MAC and802.15.4MAC protocols are more efficient. In the Cluster-tree routing algorithm, can only through the implementation of forwarding data packets between father and son, therefore, the required average hop number. In the AODVjr algorithm, the single node is the need of the routing table,routing cost and using AODVjr algorithm of the network is relatively high. In the improved Cluster-tree routing algorithm, node can initiate their own routing,routing the best way, average number of hops could significantly reduce the data forwarding routing, can effectively save network energy consumption in water quality monitoring network.
