In2006, three years after the born of Twitter, Sina Mircoblog came to People’seyes, which means the fifth generation of the new media---mobile phone media’sexistence. Mobile phone media uses phone microblog、Wechat to communicate, gainsinformation and becomes a necessary part of people’s life. In the end of June,2013,the number of Chinese netizens reached to618million,500million of who weremobile phone netizens and took up80.9%. The openness and freedom of mobilephone media make people feel free and quick. The author thinks the existence ofmobile phone media make up and complete the traditional media’s disadvantages, andit’s the only way in the development of media. Mobile phone media leads a new wayto a new history. This new history mainly depends on mobile phone media tocommunicate. The born and development of mobile phone media provide brand newtechnology and opportunity for pushing the progress of human civilization. On theother hand, if the people can’t use this new media properly, the mobile phone’s newtribe will take a risk of dissimilation. We need to guard against it.The main body of this thesis consists of three parts.The first part initiatively starts with what new media is, analyzes various currentdifinations of new media, and then from the comparative analyzes with traditional media, it concludes the characteristics of new media. New media is a general namerelative to old media. The last is a brief analysis of the relative conception of newmedia.The second part is a research on the social effects of new media. As one of themain parts of this thesis, this part is mainly about two aspects. Firstly, new media haspositive effects on the society. It mainly elaborates the positive part which wasneglected in the discussion of social effects of new media. Secondly, new media hasnegative effects on the society, which is one of main parts of this thesis. It is mainlyelaborated from the aspects of society and individual.The third part tends to discuss the new media’s control to society. In terms ofeffect of social control, we firstly deal with the technical evaluation of productstrigged by this new media, which makes an explanation in detail. Then we furtherillustrate the relevant theories about social control, and reach the social effective control system of new media. In this part, we mainly focus on social effective controlof new media.In the era of new media, mobile media has become the representative of the trendof this era. With regard to this trend, we should and must make a rational analysis, evaluation and control. In the abnormal social development of interests in power, the false or unhealthy information brought by mobile media erodes the cultural spirit and connotation. As researchers of the social influence and social control, we need to anticipate the positive and negative influence of it exerted to society, to guide and control it in order to make it have a better and much healthy development.
