Mobile communication technology is developing at an alarming rate, not too long after3G got into use,4G licenses is expected to be released by the end of this year. It can be said communication technologies are changing the way people live, people become increasingly dependent on communications technology in their daily lives, and as a key part of the wireless communication system, modeling the wireless channel precisely determines the quality of wireless communication. Therefor channel model plays an important role in simulating the transport environment. Besides, with technology developing, people are no longer confined to research wireless applications in2-6GHz band, but to look into the a new frequency band60GHz band. Because of its unique advantages60GHz communications technology become a research hot spot. In this article two kinds of3D channel model which are parts of the two projects with the Qualcomm Company will be introduced.One is3D SCME channel model. Traditional2D channel model is becoming not accurate enough with the increasing demand for communication performance, so it is necessary to build3D channel model. The first channel model to introduce is the3D extension of3GPP’s SCME channel model and mainly working in the2GHz-6GHz frequency.The other channel model is IEEE802.11ad a relatively new channel model in the60GHz frequency, also in cooperation with Qualcomm. There are three typical scenarios in the model, the two sub-scenarios of Conference Room scenario will be discussed.The methods of constructing the two models will be discussed in detail.and the performance simulation results of the two models will also be given for reference purpose.
