With the rapid development of modern multimedia and mobile communication services, the demand of transmission rate has been increased from the traditional low rate Kbit / s to Mbit/s,or even higher gigabit speed.However,the conventional mobile communication system can not provide such high rate. Due to its high frequency, and wide-bandwidth transmission characteristics,the 60 GHz band wireless communications become a hot topic for studying in recent years. This paper relies on national 863 project, studies measurement technology on 60 GHz channel modeling, and provides a measurement report of typical scenario.This paper outlines the background and status of 60 GHz wireless communications research,the latest research on academic and industry.Detailedly analysizes the 60 GHz radio channel characteristics, and introduces the channel model given by IEEE 802.11 ad and IEEE 802.15.3c task group,and then gives a brief description of the progress of 60 GHz radio channel research.For the fifth-generation mobile communication millimeter-wave communication candidated 60 GHz band,this article focus on studying the wideband、high frequency radio channel measurements and the key technologies for modeling channel.By the way,we designs a long time、multi-angle automatic measurement system, and then study the radio channel characteristics of some typical application scenarios for 60 GHz band.Basing on the large number of tests,we set up the large-scale channel modeling 60 GHz band for indoor LOS and NLOS channels, and do the small-scale channel parametric statistical analysis.In order to fully study the propagation characteristics of indoor and outdoor, we do some penetration test of different materials, and make a series of comparative tests. The results of this paper provide a reference for the design of 5G millimeter-wave communication system in the actual environment, and also provide an important experimental basis for new communication standards,network planning,field tests and so on.
