Android system is the most popular operating system for smart phone. It’s free, source-open, and stable, which brings convenience to the development of Android app. At the same time, as the3G times has come, the speed of data transmission gets higher and higher, which meets the requirements for high-rate business via mobile network, such as download the video.The issue aims at developing an app so that the Android smart phone can take the place of the traditional inspection terminal. Considering the inspection staff may need to handle with multimedia files sometimes, the paper design a multimedia module for Android app, by which the staff can take photos and record a video, the staff can also have a look at the photos and videos he gets. What’s more, he can even upload the multimedia file to the server.In order to achieve the goal, the main work is as follows:1. Make the needs analysis for the multimedia module for inspection system:taking the features of inspection tasks into account, make a need analysis in three aspect:feasibility, function and what customers need. After all, draw a conclusion.2. Make a outline design for the module:according to the need analysis, figure out how the module should be designed. At last, make a general outline design and function division of the module structure.3. Finish the design and implement:on the basis of the general structure, make a detailed design of the process of each sub-module, and accomplish the functions of each sub-module on the MyEclipse platform.4. Complete the function test:repeat testing each function point on the Android phone and optimize the program constantly. Finally finish the design and implement of the multimedia module, which reaches the desired goal.
