The Domain Name Server, as a basic service, its mainly responsible is mapping the domain name and the Internet address. The emergence of the DNS system is convenient for the users to access the Internet, so the Internet becomes more popular. The first step to suffering the Internet resource is to use the domain name system to resolve domain names to IP address. For the users, the response speed and accuracy of this step is a very important aspect. The research work of this paper is based on the DNS standard protocol proposed by the IETF. At the beginning, the paper analyses the working principle and related knowledge of DNS system. Then delves into the architecture and structure of DNS of certain communications operator, and compares and analysis the advantages and disadvantages between four-tier network and three-tier network. What’s more, presents some issues of the current domain DNS system, such as low resolution within the certain network, poor security, bad scalability and IPv6DNS transition issues. To solve these problems, proposes and designs the corresponding solutions, and designs many parts of the functional test points. Uses the given versions of DNS software to achieve sortlist, random port, TSIG, DNSSEC, extensive domain name analysis and IPv6dual-stack function. Selects the appropriate equipment, environmental and test tools to realize these test cases. Studies the test data of different DNS software aims to find the information to enhance the mobile domain name system parameters. Based on the test result, service provider can select the best fit DNS server for the size of their existing network. The thought and implementation of the programs can effectively improve the network resources utilization of domain name system, more importantly it can enhance the user experience.
