With the ever-changing electronic products, the requirements for integrated circuits become smaller and smaller feature sizes, and for increasing the reliability of the chip. Electrostatic discharge electromagnetic compatibility problems caused by more and more people’s attention, electromagnetic interference has great influence on the reliability of electronic products. ESD (Electrostatic Discharge, ESD), or " electrostatic discharge " means. All static all the time does not exist in the course of our lives, mutual friction between different substances or objects, can be contacted with or separated from each other to produce static electricity, for example, extrusion in the production process, the cutting, handling, mixing and filtering and dry hair exposed to the human body or clothing or live in walking, standing, undress and other processes will generate static electricity. We can come into contact with static electricity all the time, and even our own body and surrounding objects with high electrostatic voltage on up to several thousand volts or even tens of thousands of volts, these electrostatic perhaps no great impact on people’s health, but for some static-sensitive components can make it lose itself was directly due to normal performance even completely destroyed. Therefore, for good simulation EMC test environment and reduce the different ESD electrostatic gun impact on the results of the differences is very important. This paper describes the standards and provisions of the ESD simulator several common ESD simulator, calibration devices and methods, and calibration of the open circuit voltage and current waveforms simulator; compared the chip-level and system-level ESD test its ESD simulator requirements, test methods are given for chip-level ESD simulator correlation test, including test level selection, testing instruments and testing processes and laboratory environment configuration, test PCB and a part of the test software implementations and test selection and classification pin test results; analysis of test results for performance comparison ESD simulator, and the impact of switching on the discharge current and open circuit voltage ESD simulator.
