With the rapid development of world economy, transportation is becoming more and more busy, Intelligent Transportation System has become a hot topic, it plays a vital role for the healthy development of the city-transportation. And car networking provides a new direction for Intelligent Transportation System. It can ensure the high performance of state to intelligent control and monitoring of city road. Car networking in the future development tends to be wireless communication technology, GPS technology and sensor technology missing together with each other. The car networking will toward to safe and reliable, fast, intelligent and humane direction in the future network.This paper introduces the concept and the related background of car networking and Android platform at first. And then it explained the present situation and the development trend of car networking and Android platform. And then it expounds the research significance of the car networking application based on Android platform. Next, this paper describes in detail the related technologies involved in the car networking application based on Android platform. Through all aspects of demand of the system, this paper compares them to give a better solution. After solving the related key technical problems, this paper puts forward the goals and requirements of the system. And it designs the system architecture to introduce in detail the function of each module in the system. This paper also introduces the function, the implementation scheme and the process of data interaction between user and system. And it emphatically expounds the design and implementation of each function module. Finally, this paper analyzes the result of the function testing and non functional testing for the system and points out the further research and improvement after the design and implementation of the work.
