IEEE802.3av which is the10G EPON standard only makes recommendations on the physical layer and the data link layer of10G EPON. But it doesn’t cover some areas, such as how to carry multiple services effectively, how to ensure the QoS of different services, how to ensure the security of the system. And these problems are precisely the key technical problems that are must be addressed in the practical implementation of10G EPON. The basis of solving these problems is that the10G EPON system can identify different services deeply.The application identification technology has been studied deeply in the paper. And an application identification scheme in10G EPON system has been designed. Details are as follows.1.A10G EPON system supporting deep application identification function has been designed. The OLT identifies downlink data while the ONU identifies uplink data so the10G EPON can identify bidirectional flows on the access side. Doing application identification for bidirectional flows can manage user data better with lower cost. And the access network can be more intelligent.2. A wire-speed deep application identification scheme which used DPI technology and DFI technology synthetically has been designed. The DPI part and the DFI part connect in series. The DFI part is a background processing part which don’t occupy the processing time of front DPI part. Then the scheme ensures that it can identify mainstream Internet applications deeply in wire-speed.The core modules like keyword identification module, identification results arbitration module, packet feature selection module, DFI module, have been designed and implemented. Through the verification of the10G EPON system supporting deep application identification function, we confirmed that the system can do lOGbps wire-speed identification, the accuracy rate is more than90%and the recalling rate is more than80%.
