Design And Implementation Of Software Customization For Global Released Mobile Phone

With the development of society and technology, mobile phones have become an integral part of people’s lives as a consumer electronics product. The rapid growing of the mobile phone market attracts a lot of multinational companies to join it, and release their products in many countries. Each region has its own software requirement, this cause the mobile phone manufacturers to release different software for each region. The production cost increases with the increasing of the region number, including code maintenance, software release, factory production, customer service and software upgrades. So it needs a solution to customize the software for regions with a lower cost.Most of the famous mobile phone manufacturers have their own solution for software customization. Based on the existing solutions, after analysis the software requirement, and Android architecture, this thesis finds a simple and efficient software customization solution.This thesis including below tasks:1. Describes Android architecture, the compiler framework and processes; introduce the usage of software images and the release process; introduce the image flashing.2. Analysis the software requirements for all regions, extract the common requirements and regional requirements.3. Analysis the disadvantage of current customization solutions, provide a customization solution based on the regional requirement and Android system.4. Develop the customization solution, including extends Android compile system, extend flash command, improve the Android framework to adapt customization system, extend FOTA system, improve the software release process.5. Systemicly test the customizaztion solution, verified the feasibility, and the solution meets the design target.The software customization system in this thesis has realized in a mobile phone in market, got the customer’s verify and sold in more than20countries. This software customization system is easy to maintain, the build is fast, most of release process is automatic, and could FOTA upgrade in all region, it meets the design target, and create profit for the company.
