Nuclear spectrometer is very important to extract nuclear information for the purpose of Basic researches. Multi-channel pulse height analyzer is the most important component of the nuclear spectrometer, but there are little mature products produced by domestic enterprises. The thesis studies the high performance digital multi-channel pulse height analyzer (DMCA), which is of positive engineering significance.The thesis studies the key component of high performance digital nuclear analysis equipment based on FPGA. The thesis discusses the research status about DMCA at home and abroad firstly, and on this basis,the thesis focuses on the following key issues:(1) The thesis designs the electronic circuits of DMCA using FPGA and ADC technologies that is known.(2) The thesis researches the key technologies, such as filter shaping, baseline restoration, pile-up recognition, and improves these algorithms, and these algorithms can run on FPGA.(3) The thesis designs the FPGA software architecture using modular approach, and realizes the function to extract pulse height.The thesis realizes the software and hardware designs of DMCA on the basis of above work, and all digital signal processing algorithms are running on the FPGA.The results of the experiment validate that the digital measuring system that has been designed has better performance of the energy resolution and stability than analog measuring system, fits the need of nuclear analysis equipment and improves the performance of device. The research results that the thesis studies has positive significance to the development of domestic nuclear spectrometer.
