Study On Resource Management Of Optical Distribution Network In Optical Access Network

As the construction of the networks in our country, the Passive Optical Network has becomemore and more mature in operation, management automation and information technology, but therestill exist many problems in PON which restricts the development of PON.Optical Distribution Network is an important component of PON. There are a range ofdrawbacks existing in Passive Optical Distribution Network in terms of operation and maintenance,including large amount of information resources, widely scattered places, and managementdifficulties.This paper focuses on the research of intelligent ODN. First, the paper proposes a scheme tomake ODN management system perfect on a basis of controlling over full life cycle of ODNresources. In this way the ODN management system is used for not only controlling the resourcesof ODN but also scheduling task under the Operation Support System platform. Second, the paperstandardizes all existing resources in ODN and introduces a plan to collect and manage theseinformations by using the technology of electronic tag and single chip microcomputer namedMSP430. Finally, the paper devises one plan including the development of the intelligent ODNdevices, intelligent ODN accessories. The paper puts forward the hardware and softwaredevelopment of the Detecting Unit. The paper has a detailed discussion on this idea. Moerover, itspossibility and feasibility are discussed, too.
