With the development of mobile communication technology, it is becoming muchhigher that the requirements for the speed of wireless communication system in variousmulti-media and Internet applications. Due to the limitations of radio spectrumresources, however, high-speed data transmission rate can only be realized throughefficient signal processing techniques. The researches in recent years show thatMultiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system, which can improve message capacityremarkably, and the space time coding technology in it is one of the key signalprocessing technologies. On the other hand, Orthogonal-Frequency-Division-Multiple(OFDM) system can improve system frequency utilization rate. Therefore, thecombination of MIMO and OFDM will be the key technology in the future mobilecommunication field.Considering the important function of MIMO-OFDM technology in future mobilecommunication system, it would be of great importance in both theoretical and practicalsides to study the communication mechanism and the anti-jamming performance ofMIMO-OFDM system. This paper, pointing at the differences in space time coding,studies deeply in system performance of different space time coding in MIMO-OFDMsystem. Firstly, this paper analyses the communication principles of MIMO and OFDMsystem,including the MIMO system model, the MIMO system channel model, spacetime coding technology and the communication mechanism of OFDM system; on thebasis of which, the communication mechanism of MIMO-OFDM system is analysed.Then the paper deeply analysed the system performance of the MIMO-OFDM system.Besides, in consideration of the vital role that the space time coding plays in theMIMO-OFDM system, this paper analyses the models of the STTC-OFDM system, theSTBC-OFDM system and the BLAST-OFDM system and conducts simulation andanalysis. Finally, the paper simulates and analyses the bit error rate according to different disturbing signals in the MIMO-OFDM system. Based on theoretical research,the key modules have been modeled and designed, which are implemented and analyzedwith MATLAB7.1simulation platform.
