Patient registration is a complex and difficult issue in almost all the hospitals in China. This is because patients are not able to be aware of acquired information in time. Especially the resource of the hospital is very limited. Hence, the provisioning of how to register the patients effectively becomes an increasing demand. To this end, pre-registration appointment has been proposed and proven to be an efficient way to solve such problems. It aims at registering the patient without their presence and assigning the doctors according to availabilities. By doing this, hospitals are able to manage and optimize the limited resource effectively. Health Department of General Logistics Department has proposed and planned a new Hospital Information System (HIS) based on PLA community. As a key component, patient registration appointment system will be designed and developed in this project.In our work, the patient registration appointment system consists of appointment reservation function, appointment cancelling function, doctor selection, information review and other system maintenance related functions. In addition, the system is able to generate the blacklist automatically according to the mal-use behaviors. Especially, we redesigned the data structure according to the registration procedure, which enhance the management, and meanwhile link data to any other sub-systems.In order to increase the efficiency and reduce the congestion, we have divided the appointment reservation into time slots in terms of clock hours. To this end, the time of a reservation can be located at an exact hour. Hence, the patients can be distributed in an efficient way, which result in a low reservation intensity.RESTful API is employed to build the system, which is capable of enhancing the system performance and scalability. Regardless the professional medical work, the system will provide unified interface to respond the user requirements. The website is built of Google AngularJS framework to process professional logic. As a result, the load of system can be reduced and save the resource, and meanwhile decrease the coupling between the system front and back end, and hence extend the scalability of the system. The deployment of this project will improve the graphical user interface, performance, data structure and scalability of patient registration appointment system. The advantages of such system lie on scheduling resource effectively, shortening the patients waiting time, improving the quality of experience for both patients and hospitals.
