Because of excellent performance of aluminum foil which has been widely used infood, medicines and so on sealing packaging, especially in the packing of the tablets andcapsules drugs is most common. Sealing ability is an important factor for guaranteeing itsquality, but the aluminum foil blister sealing leakage defect is difficult to visuallyobserved, it decreases the effect of products shelf life, even the medicines’out-of-date anddeterioration might do harm to the user’s health. Surface pore and fracture is the mainfactor that influences the quality of aluminum foil covering film. The traditionalinspection method for aluminum foil covering film quality is to use manual testing, thetest method is prone to leak and mistakenly identified phenomenon, and the intensity oflabor is big, the efficiency is low.The main research content of this article is to develop an application of aluminumfoil products packaged air tightness detection system that is based on CCD imagerecognition of the quality of the aluminum foil covering film detection system. TheLABVIEW of the NI company is software development environment for this system, andthe MV-130UC industrial automation camera, camera lens, light source, vacuum pump,adjustable bracket and computer etc is the hardware platform for the detection system.The main module of development system for visual inspection are the imageacquisition and processing, image segmentation, image recognition and matching andperform testing. The function of the implementation is: measured items placed in avacuum cavity detector, by programming control vacuum pump to control the pressurechange of the vacuum chamber, using software trigger CCD camera images of the items tobe tested under normal pressure and vacuum, two images through image preprocessing toremove noise. By the edge extraction and segmentation, to obtain the target imagecollected information, to make the sum of the standard template matching imagegeneration, characterized by area of the aluminum foil covering membrane surface defectrecognition, the executing module to save the result of the test system of test, display andprint.The testing system not only has good human-machine interface, but also realizes thenondestructive automatic detection of tested items, and then effectively improve the detection efficiency. This testing system up to the intelligent detection for leakage defectsof the aluminum foil covering film, has a very broad application prospects.
