With the application of medical imaging technology, in clinical diagnosis, doctorsestimate the geometry of the lesion size, shape and the relation with the surroundingthree-dimensional parts through the information provided by multiple two-dimensionalimages and relies on their subjective imagination and clinical experience, which lack ofintuitive nature and accuracy. The three-dimensional visualization technology of medicalimage has become a research focus in the field of biomedical engineering..The three-dimensional visualization technology of medical image reconstructs thesequence of two-dimensional tomographic images scanned by medical devices tothree-dimensional images with the computer aided technology and image processingtechnology and it processes the two-dimensional tomographic images andthree-dimensional images reciprocally. It can obtain three-dimensional structuralinformation from two-dimensional images and display three-dimensional images, can giveclinicians the intuitive feeling, thereby improving the accuracy of medical diagnosis andscientific of treatment program.Currently, the three-dimensional visualization technology of medical image has beenwidely applied to various fields in modern medicine, such as auxiliary medical diagnosis,surgery simulation, guided therapy, surgical navigation and so on. It shows a gooddevelopment prospects and gets a lot of attention which gradually forms an importantdiscipline in visualization technique.The main work of this paper is to further study the key technologies related tothree-dimensional visualization technology of medical image. This technology reconstructsthe DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications Medicine) medical images tothree-dimensional visualization images using the Ray Casting (RC) volume renderingalgorithm. It employs the three-dimensional virtual trackball ideas and combines the spatialgeometric transformation algorithm, achieving the arbitrary cutting algorithm design ofthree-dimensional visualization image and the display of arbitrary cutting images whichmakes complex internal information having a better display. It can also processthree-dimensional visualization image using a separate color3D display technology andachieve the three-dimensional effect of images. Meanwhile, this paper realizes the software design and source code implementation ofthe three-dimensional visualization of tomographic CT sequence images based on theEclipse development platform and using Java language. The developed software canreconstruct three-dimensional medical images quickly, accurately and really, and achieveman-machine interactive features for three-dimensional medical image, such as perspectivetransformation, scaling, arbitrary cutting and3D stereoscopic display which can get thecomplex internal structure information of image better.
