Along with the soaring development of the mobile communication technology and the rapid popularization of the Internet, mobile multimedia services are obtaining more and more user’s attentions. In the future world of Information communication, the goal of mobility is to realize the5W (Whoever, Whenever, Wherever, Whomever, Whatever) communication, meaning that, whoever can receive whatever messages from whomever at whenever and wherever. The development of information and communication technologies also makes users to put forward higher requirements for convenient and personalized voice communication service. Under this background, our research on the issue about key technology of session mobility in next generation network has a good practical and research value and can satisfy the NGN requirement. The SIP-based3PCC and REFER methods both can realize session mobility in mid-call, which provides basic technical support for our research. However, the implement of session mobility in mid-call using3PCC and REFER methods utilizes a static service providing mode that doesn’t take environmental factors relating to session mobility into consideration, resulting that dynamical and self-adaptive session mobility service can’t be provided. Therefore the user’s increasing personalized needs can’t be satisfied.Considering the shortcoming of service providing mode introducing by the SIP-based session mobility service as we mentioned before, firstly we analyze related supporting methods and existing problems of SIP session mobility, and also discuss relevant theories about the context-aware computing. Then we propose a novel SIP session mobility framework through combining SIP network architecture with the context-aware technique. At last, we implement a self-adaptive session mobility service based on our new proposed framework, which can adjust the service dynamically. The related context can be location context, device context, preference context and so on. The experimental results show that our proposed self-adaptive session mobility service can largely improve the usability of call transfer service, meanwhile, it can reduce the cognitive load and manual operation of users. Hence, the self-adaptive session mobility service can provide new user experience.
