With the development of the industrial automation, Automatic controltechnology has an increasingly important role in industrial production. Automatedproduction system is one of the important components of the automatic controltechnology. The MPS (Modular Production System) is a typical automatedproduction system, which is suitable for universities to set up a Comprehensivetraining program. In order to increased the ability of the students to design andhands we develop the MPS production process teaching experimental system basedon FESTO’s MPS system.Paper constitutes a typical master-slave control system with PLC andPROFIBUS-DP, using a master-slave communication delay model, analyzes the buscontrol system factors. Designs overall framework for the MPS system, establishesPROFIBUS-DP communication network, so that each workstation can establishmaster-slave communication from the DP interface of S7-300PLC. IncreasesET200M module, robotic workstations connected into the PROFIBUS network.Using STEP7software designs PLC program to realize the master-slave stationcontrol and data exchange. Designs monitoring software of process monitoring andmanagement layers, using WinCC monitoring configuration software to realize thereal-time monitoring of teaching experimental system. Using OPC technology andVisualBasic language designs information management software, using C/S modeconfiguration network monitoring. Finally has carried on the system debugging andusing.Through the development of MPS production process teaching experimentalsystem, using PROFIBUS fieldbus realize data exchange and network control of thesystem, improve the stability and speed of information exchange. Achieve aparameter setting, data display, information processing, and status monitoring.Improve the stability of production processes and the ability to deal with fault. Beapplied to the mechatronics technology professional students’ teaching practice,application of advanced teaching methods, which makes the students in the field ofthe modern high-tech contact with the latest achievements of development, as a highskills, the sustainable development of the high quality talents.
