Magnetrons have widely used in radar, Communications, medical equipment, microwaveoven and industrial heating for high efficiency, low voltage, high output power, lowmanufacturing cost and easy to use. Especially, as a microwave source widely apply tomicrowave oven. Now, Microwave oven magnetrons also begin to diversification, such asmagnetron of resonant frequency is5.8GHz, high output power MGT, high efficiency MGTand mini-type MTG. This design is also a new one, mini-type low voltage magnetron.Magnetron’s anode voltage currently used in Microwave oven is4.2KV, anode resonantfrequency is2.45GHz, output power is900W, anode tube diameter and height at size of40mm and21mm. Its volume is about1dm3after assemble to be product, mini-type MGTcan provide600W output power and possess0.6dm3volume. The cost is greatly reduced. Inthis thesis, the main researching contents are listed as follows:1. Magnetron’s history, present situation, history, principle and structure are introduced.2. The components of microwave oven are introduced. Principle of the magnetron isthoroughly expounded.3. The anode resonance system, the cathode emission system, the magnetic circuit system andenergy output system are designed. Anode resonance system and the magnetic circuit systemwill be designed as follows: firstly, the initial size are designed by the theory of MGT,secondly, the specific size are confirmed by simulating of CST or HFSS, finally, somerelatively experiments are arranged to validate the simulation accuracy.4. The working status is provided by particle simulation.5. Experiments are manufactured by the size of simulation. The assessments are provided byrelatively test.6. Summary and outlook.
