Magnetron is a kind of electric vacuum component that can produce microwave energy and it is efficient and low cost. Magnetron has broad applications in radar,communication,accelerating power,medical devices,home microwave oven and industrial heating. Magnetron has got a very good application on microwave oven for it is simple structure, high efficiency, low working voltage, simple power and strong adaptability. Microwave oven magnetrons also begin to diversification. There are high power magnetrons, efficient magnetrons, 5.8G magnetrons and low-cost magnetrons. This design is also a new one, low voltage magnetron.Magnetron's anode voltage currently used in Microwave oven is 4.2 KV. The number of rectangular resonant cavity is 10. Low voltage magnetron's anode voltage is about 2.4 KV. The design is finished at WITOL company.In this thesis, the main researching contents are listed as follows:1. Magnetron's history, present situation, history, principle and structure are introduced. The low voltage magnetron's cathode is analyzed and designed.2. The resonator of magnetron is analyzed. Low voltage magnetron's resonator model is established and simulated for the working frequency is 2.45GHz.3. A more uniform magnetic field was designed by using of CST.4. Particle simulation for low voltage magnetron is accomplished to get various indexes of low voltage magnetron.5. Low voltage magnetron is produced, tested and analyzed.6. Summary and outlook.
