Research Of Network Teaching System Based On J2EE

Network education is a new education model, which can exploit the educationadvantages of the Radio and Television University largely and reflect the modernstudents-oriented and teachers-dominated education ideology. With the rapiddevelopment of network technology, how to develop network education efficiently isgradually becoming a significant topic of Xi’an Radio and TV Education University.How to build the campaign of network education is a key and essential problem tosolve this topic.Firstly, the research background and current situation of international networkeducation are introduced and the theoretical principle of platform designing isproposed, in which the necessity and feasibility of network education platform areanalyzed.Based on the research on the related techniques, the network education framearchitecture based on J2EE is proposed in this paper. The work of teaching andmanagement in this system are performed on roles such as student, teacher and systemadministrator. For modules such as student learning, teacher teaching and resourcemanagement, the use case description and detailed design explain are given. Underenvironment of network education, students can study efficiently, in which everystudent has a user ID, namely student ID. When logged in the system by inputting theuser ID and password, the student can study, test, submit homework and discuss witheach other. When verified by the system administrator, the teacher as a valid user candirectly submit an application to use this system, in which the individual networkteaching frame can be generated automatically and the teacher can implement thefunctions such as courseware editing and management. When logged in the system byinputting the user ID and password, the teacher can apply the course, edit course,upload courseware, release homework, manage messages on the course, answer thequestion and discuss in the network. The system administrator has the highestmanagement authority and is responsible for user registration, resource managementand verification such as video, audio and courseware. Meanwhile, the systemadministrator is responsible for system maintenance which includes messagesannouncement and management, course modification. Additionally, the system administrator can query the information of message resources, teachers, students,courses and so on. Under environment of network education, the teaching resourcesare managed by the system administrator which can be accessed by teachers andstudents according to their need. So, the teaching activities cannot be constrained bythe time and space limitation. Ultimately, the target of teaching and learning in theteaching process are achieved.By using the software developing standard of J2EE, the developed networkeducation system inherits the advances of Java technique and has significantadvantages for the development, extension and management of this system. With theutilization of the network education system efficiently, the feasibility of systemtechnique scheme and the stability of the system are verified efficiently.
