The Empirical Study And Exploration Of The University Library Electronic Resource Evaluation

Under the wide application of electronic resources, remarkable changes havebeen taken place in the collection structure of the information resources in universitylibrary. With the superiority of large amount of information, original content, highacademic value, convenient to use, powerful retrieve, timely reports, short publishingcycle, electronic resources is well received by teachers and students. Electronicresources are playing an important role in meeting the demands of teaching andscientific research in universities and have become an important part of libraryliterature resources.In this paper, the theory of electronic resources evaluation indicators weresummarized, putting the literatures of Tianjin university that have been selected bySCI as research objects, analyzing the effective reference quantity, downloads,characteristic factor and the average price of the full text electronic periodicalsdatabase, and establishing full-text electronic periodicals database evaluation modelon the basis of the four indicators. And through the analysis of the data model, itmakes a reference of full-text electronic periodicals database of Tianjin Universityand it will be helpful to the optimization of electronic resources. In addition, we canalso see the part to be perfect and strengthened and make the prospect of the directionof the evaluation of electronic resources.The innovation of the paper is that it presents the new evaluation indicator of thedatabase-Effective reference quantity and put forward the system of electronicresources evaluation indicators. The system combines the four indicators which aredownloads database, effective reference quantity, characteristic factor, the averageprice. Make a quantitative evaluation of the database from four different angles,combine the four indicators and present the results in numerical. The paper results arein conformity with the practical situation of universities, using empirical methods toverify the feasibility of the index system.
