The Digital Radio Mondiale system is a multimedia digital radio systemapproved by ITU covering the frequency below30MHz. It inherits the characteristicsof broad covering area and long transmitting distance in the traditional broadcasting.On the other hand, it overcomes the disadvantages of traditional AM broadcastingtechnology, such as limited services, vulnerability to interference, high transmittingpower, etc. While using the same bandwidth as analog AM broadcasting (9kHz or10kHz), DRM achieve the high tone quality of FM standard and enrich the AMbroadcasting technique with additional text and image services. DRM transmissionsystem can be divided into three modules as the source coding, channel coding andOFDM modulation. The receiving system is the opposite.Image transmission in DRMdigital broadcasting channel determines whether the audience can get high-qualityaudio and additional services.This dissertation describes the structure of DRM transmission system, describesthe source coding, channel coding and OFDM modulation process, shows how togenerate DRM RF test signals, focuses on the principle and method of imagetransmission on DRM receiver.In this paper, we emits RF signal by Rohde&Schwarzinstrument.Then we get the DRM test signal through the down-conversion moduleand receive the music in the PC platform.The development platform in thisdissertation is MIS-jBox embedded platform, which is based on the DM3730core.This embedded platform integrates a powerful1GHz ARM Cortex-A8core and an800MHz TMS320C64+digital signal processor. The dissertation realized theembedded DRM software receiver based on the WinCE platform. After softwareoptimization, we can receive the clear image in the embedded development boardsuccessfully.
