With the rapid development of embedded technology, video acquisition and processingtechnology and network communication technology, people’s requirements to networking andintelligent have become increasingly, therefore, network video surveillance system came intobeing and developed rapidly. This embedded network video surveillance system, with its low cost,low power consumption, high efficiency and other characteristics gradually applied to variousfields.In this paper, S3C6410processor as the core hardware system development platform, thefirst embedded Linux operating system is installed on the host PC as a virtual machineVirtualBox, Conducted a bootstrap program BootLoader transplant, build cross-compilerenvironment, completion the Linux kernel cutting and compilation and transplantation, USBdrive transplant, YAFFS2root file system of production, etc. build a complete developmentplatform of embedded software and hardware. Communication between the target machine andthe host through the serial port and Hyper Terminal. An external camera connected through USBinterface located in the development board is used to collect the video image data.And set itsaccess control through the microprocessor S3C6410interfaces V4L2,completed the design ofvideo image acquisition module,video compression standard H.264encoding is used,S3C6410chip built-in hardware codec module MFC is used of The video image data collected for H.264encoding,it had a higher compression ratio of the video compression.Then,by building anembedded web server to achieve network transmission of video images. The applicationscompilation complete in Vi editor and compile video surveillance system login screen, users canmonitor a remote real-time situation by logging into the browser.
