As essential equipment for electromagnetic exploration, electromagnetic trans-mitter reverse the steady power supply with desired frequency and transmit the powerthrough grounding electrodes, in order to obtain effective electromagnetic field fordeep geophysical exploration. To obtain effective geophysical data during deep ex-ploration, the transmitter needs to be high-voltage, high-current, with high-accuracyoutput, and yet compact and light. The researches on the power supply technologiesfor high-voltage high-power electromagnetic transmitter is of significant importanceto the deep geophysical explorations in China.After analyzing the basic characteristics and current research status of the powersupply technology for high-voltage high-power electromagnetic transmitter, a newapproach for theoretical study and technical development for the power supply tech-nology based on switching power technology was proposed. A topology of electro-magnetic transmitter was designed, and completed the topology theoretical analysis,computer simulation and experimental verification. In this paper, the main work is asfollows:Firstly, this paper analyzes and compares the common topology of switchingpower supply. According to the power range and characteristics of each topology, itdesigns circuit for the topology of high-power electromagnetic transmitter. It also hasthe comparative analysis of the hard-switching technology and soft-switching tech-nology and a approach that using the hard-switching technology to control thefull-bridge converter was proposed.Secondly, for the special usages and technical indicators of high-voltagehigh-power electromagnetic transmitter, the power topology of series-parallelfull-bridge converter modules is adopted for the designing of two-pass magnetic inte-grated high-frequency transformer as well as the parameters of the power circuit de-vices. The simulation analysis of the high-frequency transformer model that usingAnsoft and the simulation analysis of the magnetic transmitter power circuit modelthat using Saber were completed. And it validated the feasibility of the high-frequencytransformer and the reasonability of the power circuit devices parameter.Lastly, based on the employed topology of transmitter, high-frequency trans-former and power equipment, as well as the result of the theoretical studies, a25KWprototype that uses TMS320X2812as the main control chip to design the control cir-cuit was produced. The comprehensive performance tests conducted to the prototypevalidated the effectiveness of the theoretical study and simulation result in this disser-tation.This study focused on the technical requirements on the power supply for trans- mitter, the practical factors in engineering applications were taken into consideration,and theoretical study and experimental validation were performed, it was also verifiedin practical application.
