Ultraviolet(UV) light curing irradiation system is an important system in the curing process of crosslinked polyethylene cables. We design a kind of digital low frequency high power inverter in this paper, which is used to drive the UV lamp. Science and technology, nowadays, update rapidly, power electronics is also in constant innovation, with the advent of high performance and low cost digital processor, the traditional analog circuits are now being replaced by digital circuits. However, the traditional analog controller has its inherent defects and replace the digital controller in the field of inverter power supply, which can not only make up for the defects of the analog controller and easier to realize the control request.A control system, which has good protection function and the ability to detect load, based on STM32F103VET6 chip is designed in this paper. The UV lamp, which based on the analysis of the starting and working characteristics of UV lamp in this paper, start(ignition circuit) and work(full bridge inverter circuit) are designed by using the full bridge topology structure. The G4PH40 UD, G4PH50 UD model of the IGBT to achieve low frequency inverter in the start of the ignition circuit and the full bridge inverter circuit. The SPWM dedicated chip(PIC18F4580 MCU) is used in the inverter part, which uses the digital SPWM technology to achieve the stable output of SPWM wave. It can reduce the disturbance of other harmonics as long as possible. The digital PID algorithm is adopted, which makes the structure of the control system simply, the digital and intelligent control system is realized. In this paper, STM32F103VET6 ADC is more accurate than the commonly used TMS320F2812 ADC, which can make the power supply performance more stable and reliable in digital technology control.The experimental results can get the requirement of the power supply of the ultraviolet lamp in the curing process of cross linked cable, which can show the circuit with 50 Hz frequency, the 450 V voltage, the current of 20 A.It can provide a high quality digital low frequency and high power pulse power supply for curing the formation of the cross-linked cable.
