| China Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting (CMMB) is China self-developed digitalbroadcasting technology which is providing radio and television services mainly formobile phones, tablets and small screens, portable terminals, car TV and other mobiledevices. With the SARFT vigorously promotion, CMMB will be built to be anationwide digital broadcasting network which will cover337prefecture-level cities,855county-level cities. The people covered by CMMB will be over500million.As the operator’s construction of large-scale network begins, Network coverageis one of the key factors that determine the success of mobile TV business. Results ofcoverage test are the main basis for network construction and optimization tooperators. Due to the fact that CMMB is China self-developed technology and theindustrial chain has just been started, there is no mature coverage test system availablein the market. CMMB road tester are to fill this gap in the market.This paper describes the development and implementation process of the system.First of all, in-depth analysis of the demand for the system. The research of operator’sexisting situation shows that a clear need to address the problem. According to thecharacteristics of the system, the relevant technical standards were studied in detail,especially for measuring parameters analyzed in depth. Secondly, based on the needsanalysis, system design was carried out which is from the overall system design to theeach module design. Database design was carried out according to operator’sdemand for post-analysis of test results. Again, based on VC and DirectShow withMapX controls, detailed system design and implementation was carried out. Finally,the functinality and performance of the system were tested.CMMB road tester system is a measuring instrument to meet the demand ofoperators with radio and television industry characteristics. Operators can conductfield performance testing, especially testing mobile outdoor scenes by CMMB roadtester system, It can procide evidence for the operator’s network construction, networkoptimization, network monitoring, business promotion. Simultaneously it also can bewidely used in transmitter, repeater manufacturer’s R&D, production testing. |
