Real-time PCR as one of the most important biological technologies is widely usedin the basic research of molecular biology and the viral detection of clinical medicine.Currently, research institutions at home and abroad are committed to applicationsoftware improvement and miniaturization of a real-time PCR instrument.On the basis of analysis of a real-time PCR reaction process and real-timefluorescence detection requirement, an application software for a real-time PCRinstrument based on the.NET technology platform and universal programminglanguage C#is designed and implemented in the Windows XP operating systemenvironment, using of serial communication mechanism and multi-thread technique.The aim is to develop a set of application software with convenient, fast processingand perfect function to monitor the PCR reaction process in real-time. In this paper,the designed application software can realize some function, such as data acquisition,temperature control, data analysis and processing, data display in real time, filestorage and so on. In this application software, a serial communication interface isused for data communication between the host computer with the lower machine. Onits main interface, we apply the upload data to draw the real-time temperature andfluorescence. By this way, we can monitor the PCR reaction process in real time. Thetest results show that the application software can meet the communicationrequirements between the host computer and the hardware system of lower computerwhile it owns the rational functions and has a good factual application effect.Finally, standing on the concept of mobile health, an application software for areal-time PCR is designed based on Android system via the bluetooth communicationtechnology. By testing, the application software can realize the wirelesscommunication between mobile devices through the bluetooth to display data in realtime. By this design, we accumulate experience for the follow-up softwaredevelopment which is based on theAndroid system.
