Color blindness is a kind of color perception disorder, which can’t discriminatesome colors or identify colors, and can be divided into achromatopsia, dichromats andanomalous trichromats. It makes the achromats suffer varying degrees ofinconvenience in their working, life and so on. Therefore, various fields have beencarrying out researches on color blindness rectification in order to enhance the abilityof achromats to distinguish colors, such as acupuncture therapy, color blindnesscorrective lenses and gene therapy, but their effectiveness can’t be proved. Andresearch on the color blindness rectification through image processing isnon-destructive to patients and is of high feasibility.This paper firstly studied the three channel color vision model, and on this basis,analyzed the dichromats simulation model and anomalous trichromats simulationmodel. And in order to make the colors that is hard for the achromats to discriminatebecome distinguishable, focused on the research and analysis of color blindnessrectification algorithms based on adaptive mapping, rotate H component, thegeometric transformation mapping of images and on angel adaptive mapping ofimages, and on this basis, finished re-coloring images for protanopia、deuteranopiaand trianopia through experiment, completed color blindness rectification. And alsodesigned and implemented a color blindness testing system based on image and ballby MATLAB.In this paper, the research and the main results are as follows:(1) Firstly, based on the study of three channel color vision model, studiedprotanopia、 deuteranopia and trianopia simulation model and three kinds ofanomalous trichromats simulation models, and then designed flow diagrams ofachromats simulation, re-coloring images for achromats and achromats testingsystem.(2) According to the simple dichromats simulation models and anomaloustrichromats simulation model, experimentally realized the simulations of red, greenand blue dichromats simulation and red, green and blue anomalous trichromatsthrough MATLAB, which simulated images in the eye of the achromats. (3) This paper focused on study of color blindness rectification algorithms basedon adaptive mapping, rotate H component, geometric transformation mapping, angeladaptive mapping of images, and based on these algorithms, finished protanopia、deuteranopia and trianopia rectification experiment. Verified and analyzed thecorrective effect of the above four color blindness rectification methods. Comparedthe running speed and the corrective effect of the four algorithms through experiment.(4) Achieved the color blindness testing system proposed in this paper byprogramming. This system consists of two subsystems--the image testing system andthe ball testing system. The former one is to test the type and degree of the colorblindness, and to realize correcting color blindness images based on the above fourcolor blindness rectification algorithms. The latter one is to distinguish the protanopiaand deuteranopia, realize the protanopia and deuteranopia simulations based on thecolor balls, and verify the effectiveness of color blindness rectification algorithmsbased on above re-coloring algorithms for achromats.
