As personalinformation and business applications used more and more on the phone, the usersneed a personal authentication method which is convenient and safety. Biometricauthentication compared to the current password is the most convenient and mostsecure authentication methods. Iris recognition is the most promising biometrictechnology among the biometric authentication. With the rapid development of theiPhone and other smart phones, its high-performance processing speed alsoprovides the basis for iris recognition in the development of the platform, andalready have biometric fingerprint identification application that is on the iphone5s.This article dedicated to the research of the iris image acquisition in iOS system,First of all, using Xcode as development tool, compiled program acquisition of irisimage, and realized the image acquisition, after the collected iris image qualityevaluation, choose clear image. Then realize the preprocessing algorithm of irisrecognition, such as iris localization and segmentation, normalization, and focus onin-depth study the feature extraction algorithm which based on Gabor filter,respectively, using the Gabor real part and the imaginary part, the amplitude, phaseand direction to extract features, evaluation of its variety of methods, each methodcompares the Han Hamming distance distribution, equal error r ate and their averageencoding time, elected the imaginary part of Gabor filter as the best iris imagefeature extraction algorithm，then experiment on pc, so after transplant thealgorithm of extract features to iOS system.
