In the process of implementing information systems adopting Model DrivenDevelopment (MDD) based on the Multi-view Business Modeling, the Business ModelRepository’s duty includes management of the business model data, converting the businessmodels into web services and providing support for the services’ entire life cycle. In order toserve a large number of enterprises, the Business Model Repository needs the ability to copewith requests for storing and accessing business model data, and implement various patternsof complex applications of business model data. However, the traditional storage technologiesbased on the relational databases are not efficient enough when dealing with massivestructured and unstructured business model data. Besides, the existing Business ModelRepositories focus on basic accessing requests while ignore complex queries.To solve the problems above, a Multi-View Business Model Storage and AccessFramework is proposed as a middleware to support the Business Model Repository on theaspects of data storage, access, management, application and so on. A prototype system isbuilt to verify the framework’s correctness and usability. Much effort is put on the research onthe characteristics of Multi-view Business Model and the application patterns, which leads tothe implementation of an efficient storage and management solution combining multiple typesof databases and technologies. Furthermore, a relation meta-model is built to support thevarious complex application patterns.The main research work is as follows:(1) Propose the Multi-View Business Model Storage and Access FrameworkThe proposed framework is a middleware used to support storage, management,application of business model data for the Business Model Repository on the cloud platform.The framework implements efficient management of massive business model data on the cloud by combining multiple data storage platform and adopting multitenant data isolationand some other technologies; provides support complex applications of Business Model databased on Relation Meta-Model.(2) Implement Underlying Data Access by Combining Multiple Data Storage PlatformsBased on the research on the characteristics of Multi-view Business Model, we adoptcombined multiple databases (including relational databases and non-relational databases) andhe wrapped and extended HDFS to implement the underlying storage and access for differenttypes of data.(3) Build the Relation Meta-Model to Implement Complex Application PatternsA relation meta-model describing the relations between separated Multi-view BusinessModel data is built to implement the automatic recognition of the relations (including directand indirect relations) between different business model data. Based on the meta-model, wedesign the complex query method to support the application patterns of Multi-view BusinessModel data.(4) Build and Verify the Prototype SystemWe build a prototype system based on the proposed framework. A set of deliveringprocess data of a large logistics company is taken as an instance to verify the proposedframework’s correctness and usability. The results show that the Multi-View Business ModelStorage and Access Framework supports the Business Model Repository on multiple aspects,such as data access, data application and so on. The proposed framework provides an efficientand feasible solution for the Business Model Data management and application in the processModel Driven Development. The research work of this paper has some theoretical value andapplication prospect.
