In order to maintain good order of the radio waves, and keep the socialdevelopment of the country healthful, it is necessary to take advanced measuresto manage the radio waves increased with the rapid development of broadcastand television. Direction finding system has a very important role in themanagement of the radio waves by providing strong support. By finding thedirection of a given frequency or frequency band, peoples can discover thestations of unknown radio, illegal radio, non-normal communication phenomenon.Based on characteristics of shortwave, the new direction finding program isdiscussed by development status investigations of the radio monitoring and radiodirection finding technology, and analysis of direction finding methods, arraysignal processing, and adaptive beamforming techniques. Multi Signalclassification algorithm based on subspace method and the improved algorithmsuitable for the coherent signals is given and simulated with code programming.Based on the needs of practical project, a holistic approach to the directionfinding system of shortwave radio is designed under the new direction findingmethod. The hardware components and software features of the system is alsointroduced in this paper.The shortwave signal direction finding system studied in this paper is based onspatial spectrum estimation technology and digital beam forming technology, andhas the advantages of high sensitivity, location accuracy of direction finding,capability of co-channel signal and weak signal identification in the practicalapplication. The system has solved the problem of the traditional directionfinding system, and is suitable for precise measurement and the positioning of theshortwave signal.
