With economic developing and society improving, new technologies areemerging, and constantly open up new areas. The rapid development of wirelesssensor networks bred. Wireless sensor networks with its low power consumption, lowcost, distributed and self-organization brings a revolution of human society perceivechange. With the support of technology and equipment to be further improved andperfected, wireless sensor networks are still in the developing stage, however it willbe applied to a large area of public safety fields in the future. As the wireless sensornetwork nodes are usually battery-powered miniature, resulting in wireless sensornetworks are subjected to strict energy constraints. Making the energy used for thenetwork resources are very limited by this node power supply. Therefore, how toutilize the limited energy resources, extend the network lifetime, energy efficiencyresearch and design to meet the communication protocol is the problem of wirelesssensor network technology to be solved.Firstly, the wireless sensor network research background and current situationare introduced. And then leads to the basic concepts of wireless sensor networks,features, architecture, applications and trends. Then it is followed by in-depth analysisof several typical wireless sensor network clustering algorithm, and the clustering ofthese algorithms specific rules in detail. In the process of existing equipmentupgrading wirless sensor, the traditional clustering algorithm is not suffient enough inreality. Considering about actual requirement and amending algorithm can greatlyimprove the utilization of wireless sensor networks, which is effective in reducing thenumber of police work and release the strength of the feasibility of a single operation.As battery-powered node power supply makes the energy supply limited, the networknode clustering can be more rational and effective management of the network andimproving network lifetime to reach the above operation LEACH algorithm selected.Furthermore, the primary consideration is to reduce the energy consumption of thenetwork. Then analyze the consumption of energy based on LEACH clusteringalgorithm. Changing the cluster head election, presents a lower energy consumptionLEACH algorithm gives the simulation results and comparative analysis, which alsoachieved good results. Finally, all works is summarized, and the further research isdiscussed.In conclusion, combined with work requirements, the improved algorithm basedon LEACH into practice, and compare with improved algorithm based on LEACHand LEACH algorithm in terms of energy consumption, the improved algorithm helpsto prolong the network life cycle.
