With the continuous popularity and rapid development of the Internet, thenetwork provides more and more application and service to meet the internet user.Most network equipment need their own power supply, which make the cost increasesand not conducive to development in future. For this reason, IEEE launched IEEE802.3af which is the first standard on the power distribution system based on power overethernet. IEEE802.3af standard the data transmitted through the cable, which get ridof using the AC adapter in a few occasions, and will broaden the application ofethernet further. It can provide power via an ordinary CAT-5cable which transmitdata in ethernet, and provide data communication and power supply for powed deviceunder the existing structured cabling situations.Firstly,this paper introduces PoE(Power over Ethernet),and analyze the twoimportant components’ technology,which are PSE(Power Sourcing Equipment) andPD(Powered Device).Then,the paper design an embedded power supply system, and the powermanagement module use the power management chip to achieve.Added themicrocontroller to the system, which work with the embedded software to realize thepower system management functions.Users can complete the PoE system monitoredby system management software on the PC, and monitor the powered devices.Theoverall design determine the research direction of this article, the power managementchip adopts TI TPS2384with microcontroller designed a power supply device thatcan be controlled by the user, and the equipment can complete the identificationcertification of electrical equipmentor under the user’s intervention.It can set andmonitor the powered device working condition to achieve the intelligentmanagement.And the other strength is the control ability of the whole system.Thisdesign allows the user interfere the process of power supply which occursindependently, and make PoE power supply more flexible.
