In recent years, indoor activity becomes more and more diversiform, peoplespends more and more time indoors. Users need an accurate indoor positioningservice and exchanging information with neighboring users efficiently. The researchaim of this thesis is to analyze how to enable the mobile phones to facilitate people’slife and make it more convenient. The main concern of this thesis is LBS service inthe indoor environment. This thesis analyzes the research actuality of short-rangecommunication and indoor positioning technology, then proposes a wirelesstransmission plan and a indoor positioning solution according to the latest wirelesstechnology and indoor positioning technology.The main work of this thesis can be divided into two parts, one is the short-rangewireless communication and the other is the indoor positioning services:1)This thesis introduces BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy)technology and Wi-Fitechnology, then designs a short-range wireless communication program based onthese two technologies. Firstly, the program establishes a connection with BLE totransfer IP address to others, then activates the Wi-Fi function module. The terminalsin two sides use the Socket-based network communication for transferring data. Theprogram combines the advantages of BLE technology with Wi-Fi technology toreduce the energy consumption during the process of file transfer and solve theproblem of transferring the file without accessing to the Internet server throughinfrastructure network.2)This thesis brings in the thought of "roadmap" in the program of DukeUniversity and thought of routing protocol and propose a new indoor positioningsolution using the latest technology iBeacon, which distributes base stationsupporting iBeacon technology in the indoor environment and regards iBeacon basestation as "invisible signposts" in the indoor environment. The indoor environment isdivided in several different areas, each area is managed by a iBeacon basestation.The communication between the base station of two adjacent regions isavailable. The iBeacon base station provides services to the users in its covering area. The indoor positioning program can provide many services to users, such as querying,navigation, sending positions and has characteristics including low powerconsumption, easy distributing, low cost, high accuracy positioning.
