The existence of the axial force has a serious impact on the service life of themachine itself. If the axial force is too large, it will accelerate the loss of bearing. Thelight effect is the friction between the impeller and chassis and make the overall loadincrease. The serious effect make the burn of the tile, the break of the shaft, thedamage of the seal baffle. More seriously, it will endanger the life of the operator.so the measurement to the axial force of the rotating machines becomes the importantsubject in the application study of the today.In traditional axial force measurements, most of them make use of the using forcering, thrust bearing, the resistance strain sensor and so on, which also has obtainedcertain achievement. However, the traditional measurements have very big limitationsbecause most of the electricity class sensor can be affected by electromagneticinterference. Based on the above reasons, we will use optical Fiber Bragg Grating, the(FBG) sensor, combined with the advantages of it, to measure the axial force in thispaper. The work of this paper mainly contains the following aspects:(1)First, summarized the research purpose, significance and source of the studybriefly, and introduces the research status about the detection of rotating impellershaft force, especially in the field of aero-engine, and the development of FBGsensing technology.(2)second, through the theoretical analysis and structure comparison, we select theaxial flow fan to simulate the turbine of aircraft engine as the research object of thispaper. And given to the structure of the axial flow fan, we make use of the the finiteelement analysis in software of Ansys to model and simulate. According to thetheoretical analysis results, we determine the paste position of FBG sensor and themethod.(3)Third, set up the experiment platform based on the axial flow fan static testingcalibration of FBG, establish a dynamic axial flow fan axial force test system,determine the experiment scheme, do the experiment and collect the data.(4)Finally, we do the batch process to the collected data, using the method of leastsquares curve fitting.In this paper, the FBG monitoring system is used to measure the rotating impellershaft force, which breaks through the limits of using the traditional electrical method to measure the axial force and solves the problems such as the susceptible toelectromagnetic interference, easy to corrosion, short life and so on. verify thefeasibility of this measurement scheme, and obtain the change law of the axial forceof SFG3-2type pipeline low noise flow fan, which provides a theoretical basis andreference data for the future measurement to the axial force of the aero-engineturbine.
