This article takes the Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) solution to implement wireless broadband coverage along the railway. However, the routing protocols widely used in WMN cannot achieve fast and stable handover in fast-moving scenes. The paper concentrates on the study of handover mechanism under fast-moving scenes in railway WMN.Firstly, this paper proposes an architecture of railway WMN, selects the BATMAN-adv protocol as the communication protocol, then analyses the basic principle of the BATMAN-adv, and designs the multi-frequency networking solution for railway WMN. A static experiment platform was built to test the performance of this networking solution. Experimental results demonstrate that the multi-frequency networking solution can reduce the multi-hop attenuation effectively and meet the requirements of wireless broadband coverage along the railway.Secondly, a mobile experiment platform was constructed to test the performance of the BATMAN-adv protocol under moving scenes. Experimental results show that the BATMAN-adv has a problem that cannot achieve a fast handover. The paper puts forward a solution to accelerate the handover of path, which including improving the sliding window mechanism, optimization for interval optimization of OGM and hops punishment mechanism. Simulation results show that improved BATMAN-adv can achieve a fast handover.At last, stable handover mechanisms based on the TQ threshold and the upper control algorithm are designed to solve ping-pong handover problem. The simulation results show that the TQ threshold handover mechanism can prevent ping-pong handover effectively, and the upper control algorithm is feasible. Figure52, Table10, references60.
