The Design And Implementation Of Some Modules Of Data Modeling Tool For Router Common Platform

Data modeling is the process of construction and organization of data, and the process from the conceptual model to logical model to physical model. It aims to clarify the relationship between the data clearly and define the data accurately. With data modeling methods we can better define, understand and maintain the data layer data in a system. In recent years, with the data of various systems being large and complicated, data modeling becomes difficulte. At the sametime, data modeling by the degree of attention is also rising. So data modeling tool developed for the specific scene of a particular system is more and more.This article discusses the development of a dedicated visual data modeling tool for the common platform of a large-scale router. In the development process, the data modeling tool support to define the information model and command-line model in router common platform. It aims to manage the router’s data layer data and make the information model and the command-line model defined standardized, supporting to separate data model and application processing code.Firstly, this article describes the general framework for data modeling tool, Data modeling and specific types of data modeling method. Secendly, this article introduces related technologies used in the visual data modeling tools, which contains the XML standard and XML parser. Thirdly, this article describes the design and implementation of the command-line module in the data modeling tool, which contains the basic concepts of the command line, the general framework of command-line module, critical data structure s, details of the business processes implemented by the command-line module and the implementation of the command line user interface. Fourthly, this article describes the design and implementation of the log module in the data modeling tool, which contains log type, the design of the log format, log information on plug-in and log module implements specific processes. Finally, this article makes a brief conclusion of the work, and points out the defects of this project and improvements.
