With information technology, networking and intelligent development,embedded technology got a broad space, its technology is widely used in aerospace,medical, communications, industrial, consumer electronics and other fields. After acareful analysis of embedded products in various industries and found all of its coretechnology lies in the hands of foreign manufacturers, the mainstream chiptechnology basically been monopolized by foreign manufacturers. The reasons arethe following: research later, imperfect research system, lack of talent, high R&Dcosts.In this thesis, the object is embedded development board, we tried to design asuitable for China and open source software and hardware development board tomeet China’s demand for embedded learners and SMEs. In the beginning of theoverall design of the development board, compared to several of the mainstream ofthe world during the ARM embedded processor, and listed its advantages anddisadvantages. By contrast, the final choice S5PV210as the main chip based onCortex-A8architecture of Samsung;select the core board and bottom board structure;simultaneous contrast several common core board and bottom board connections,and final select stamps hole as a connection method.Hardware design is divided into core board, bottom board and expansionmodules. Core board including CPU, memory, NandFlash and other components;Bottom board major integrated network, USB, audio, serial, SD card and otherhardware features;Expansion module mainly realizes LCD touch screen, SDIOWIFI, etc. In order to obtain better electrical characteristics, core board circuit usedeight-storey density PCB design,connections used immersion gold process preventoxidation, and researched the main calculation method of the DDR memory wiringline.Bottom board designed primarily to show CPU features, used double normalPCB, and as many as possible to achieve on-board functions.Software design is divided into the Linux operating system migration andWinCE operating system migration.The Linux operating system migration is moreintensive part of the study, from the bootloader to the kernel porting and to the filesystem will be described separately. In the bootloader migration process,emphatically analyzed CPU startup process and NandFlash storage structure.Overview of the WinCE operating system migration, researched and optimized touchscreen driver.Through this research on the development board, let me in-depth understandingof the industry, which also found a lack of domestic development board. After thisstudy, basically basic realization of the development board features, but there arestill shortcomings, such as lack of support for the Android operating system.I hopethat in future work, the ability to continue to improve, the real development ofembedded technology in China to contribute to a force. For its contribution to theforce that China’s development of embedded technology.
