With the widening of remote sensing application field, the scale of remote sensing productsproduction is becoming bigger and bigger, In order to solve the remote sensing product specialization, scale,rapidness, and other issues, we need to design the readable model of remote sensing products production,which can be accepted by the computer. Traditional workflow model or flow chart does not fully describe thecomplex remote sensing product production process, which can’t meet the needs of industry users. The mainidea of the current remote sensing products is algorithm modularization,In order to adapt the changes in theremote sensing product characteristics, we put forward the remote sensing products production modeling inthis paper, which is based on the thought of algorithm modularization and Petri net theory.Firstly, this paper describes the Petri net theory, and analyzes the characteristics and the processesof remote sensing products. Secondly, based on the experience of the Petri net solving practical problems, weconstruct the remote sensing product model based on Petri net. From the perspective of syntax and semantics,we verify the model, and use the Visual Object Net++simulation software for simulation analysis. What’smore, we use the theory of Petri net’s concurrency to analyze the parallelism of this model, as well ascombine with the actual production situation of remote sensing, to change the production process. Finally, weintroduce the application of this model in practical project. The specific research work includes the followingaspects.1.Analyzing characteristics of the remote sensing products and processes, we point out thesynchronization, concurrent and sequential relationship existed in the remote sensing products. Petri nettheory is introduced in detail. We also analyze the advantages of Petri nets in the remote sensing productmodeling.2.We define the symbols and significance of the characterization of remote sensing productsproduction, establish the remote sensing product model based on Petri net, it is referred to as RSPN model.From the aspects of accessibility, rationality and conflicts, we verify the model.We also accomplish thesimulation analysis on the model. 3.We research the multiphase Petri nets model extension algorithm of remote sensing products, usethe theory of Petri net’s concurrency to analyze the parallelism, and combine with the actual productionsituation of remote sensing, to change the production process.4.The proposed RSPN model is successfully applied in information products of level3to5manufacturing subsystem. It is one of the high resolution earth observation major projects, which hasobtained good results and passed the acceptance.
