Along with the development of remote sensing, amount of remote sensing data has dramatically increased, which bring huge pressure on storing, transferring, analyzing and processing of the data. The computational power becomes the bottleneck of the remote sensing data processing. Furthermore, how to share the algorithms and software resource of the remote sensing data processing is an emergent problem now. The key issue of these problems is resource sharing. The development of Grid computing technology represents solutions to the resource sharing problem. Spatial Information Grid (SIG) involves the grid and spatial information technology. The development of remote sensing information analysis and process Grid node, which can provide remote sensing information process Grid service, is a good solution to the remote sensing and computing resource problem.This thesis focuses on the development and applications of the remote sensing information analysis and process Grid node and the remote sensing information processing service. Firstly this thesis introduced background knowledge and current situation of Grid computing. Secondly it comes to the spatial information Grid and the remote sensing process Grid node. We presented a remote sensing programming environment based on a high throughout computing platform. With this environment users can focus on algorithm development other than the complex Grid computing infrastructure. We designed the whole process of the task cooperation of the remote sensing process Grid node. The basic implementation and two application examples of the task cooperation is given, too. We also presented an example to develop a remote sensing application system based on a high throughout computing platform. Future researches are prospected at the end of the thesis.
