Since the20th century, with the increase in the amount of people using mobile phones,people demand more and more technology. Communication systems are gradually transitionfrom GPRS to the third generation mobile communication system, EDGE plays an essentialrole as a transitional technology. EDGE download speed is an important performanceindicator of user perception. The theoretical maximum of download speed of EDGE dataservice users is236.8kbit/s. However, Daqing city EDGE EDGE download speeds didn’treach theoretical download speeds, affecting the user’s perception, did not meet therequirements of users. In the period of Network quality improvement Conference Battle,Customer satisfaction is relatively large proportion of total, among them, EDGE downloadspeed requirements of the user is relatively high. Therefore, improving download speedEDGE become the focus of research in question.Daqing EDGE urban average download rate was61.37kbps. In order to improve the rate,the paper based on historical data, we analyzed various factors of insufficient resources ofDaqing urban’s EDGE download speeds, the main factors on EDGE download speedsdiagnosed were ack of PDCH resources, ABIS idle slots lack of long transmission expansioncycle. We applied a balanced carrier frequency slots approach for PDCH slot shortageproblems; we applied the expansion of the transmission circuit method for ABIS idle slotshortage problems; we developed transmission expansion process for long transmissionexpansion cycle issues from the cyclical economy, work efficiency, real-time aspects toconsider and adopt methods. After taking the above measures, the implementation of theresults were compared, results showed Daqing urban EDGE download speeds have improvedsignificantly, rectification EDGE download speeds reached a target value.
